A Unique Wedding at Lord Leycester Hospital

October 8, 2021

So this was my first chance to be a Lord Leycester Hospital photographer! Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick is about historic as it gets. It’s actually not a hospital at all, but a collection of stunning medieval buildings on Warwick High Street – if you know the area you have probably driven past it many a time. These days it is used as a place of retirement for ex-soldiers but it is steeped in military history and banquets for kings and queens once took place in the Guild Hall. As such, it was the obvious choice for military man James and his beautiful bride Helen.

I shot Helen’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and it was just wonderful to be back shooting the lovely Batchelor sisters and their friends and family. That’s one of the best things about this job – I get to see families again and again through the different stages of their lives and as a huge observer of people that is awesome to me. Anyway, I digress, as you can see from the photos, Helen and James threw a pretty epic party that had this photographer dancing round the dance floor with the guests…And from the cake made by one of Helen’s besties to the homemade table plan and the stunning floral arrangements, this wedding was a gorgeous reflection of Helen and James and their laid back but enthusiastic approach to life. Never ones to do things by halves, the week after the wedding they flew off to start the next chapter of their lives in the USA! Thanks again for having me along guys, I loved being a part of your wedding and being able to capture such heartfelt, natural moments for you. xx
